Dialysis Patient Dies in Boston Rollover Accident Involving Ambulance

Karen Scott, 58, was killed in a Boston car accident on Tuesday when the ambulance she was being transported in was hit by a car. The ambulance proceeded to roll over before righting itself on a guardrail. Scott, a dialysis patient, leaves behind a husband and two children.

According to police, a Mercedes-Benz that ran a stop sign hit the ambulance’s rear quarter panel. Police say that the stretcher Scott was on appeared to have gotten loose during the Massachusetts traffic crash. The driver of the car, 61-year-old Framingham resident Lisa Zemack, was treated for non-life-threatening injuries. She has been charged with failure to grant right-of-way and failure to stop. Police are still investigation what happened. Also injured in the Boston rollover accident was a paramedic that was riding with Scott.

Boston Car Accidents
Failing to halt at a stop sign is not only a traffic violation but it can also lead to serious Boston injury accidents, should the vehicle that did not stop collide with moving traffic. Typically this can result in serious damage to the side of the vehicle that is struck as well as severe impact injuries including death. However, there may be other reasons why such an accident occurred in the first place.

If there was an auto defect that prevented the driver from stopping, then the manufacturer or some other party responsible for making sure the car was safe to drive could be at fault. And while typically the driver of the vehicle is struck is the one that happened to end up at the wrong place at the wrong time, if speeding was a factor or some other issue (such as drunken driving or distracted driving), these activities would need to be identified to determine exactly what happened.
